Project: Roof-top Solar PV
Market: Commercial
Location: Pacific House, Imperial Way, Reading
Following a portfolio-wide review of renewable energy opportunities on CLS Holdings’ UK portfolio performed by Low Carbon Alliance (LCA), Pacific House in Reading was selected as the preferred investment to contribute to the Group’s commitment to renewable energy generation.
LCA performed the design and tender process, contractor selection, project management, cost consultancy, and PD services on the project. The system was installed over a six-week period by NWT Energy and included the installation of a new man-safe system for safe access and maintenance.
The overall capacity delivered through the system is 233kWp, which represents one of the largest office building rooftop PV systems in the UK. Since its completion in April 21, up to the end of August, the system has mitigated 36% of imported electricity and offset 28 tonnes of CO².
Russell Harding, CLS:
“This was one of the most straightforward projects I have ever managed, reflecting the professionalism of the teams supporting us at LCA & NWT, and equally impressive given the materiality to the building’s decarbonisation and the Group’s renewable energy and Net Zero carbon commitments. The installed system’s output was only 1kWp shy of LCA’s desktop modeling which gives us great confidence as to the accuracy of their predictions for our future renewable opportunities”.
Gary Haines, NWT Energy:
“It was a genuine pleasure to work with LCA & CLS on this project. The open lines of communication and attention to detail shown in the planning phase of this installation allowed for a smooth deployment process. With a pragmatic approach being shown by all parties, this project was delivered ahead of schedule and within budget. We very much hope to work on projects together again in the future”.
Kieran Crowe, Director Net Zero Buildings, at Low Carbon Alliance:
“We were delighted to be appointed by CLS to perform a portfolio wide review of solar PV. pacific house quickly presented itself as significant opportunity to help CLS progress their ambitious decarbonisation strategy. CLS are a very involved and personable client, giving all the support we and NWT needed to deliver this project ahead of schedule and on budget. The end result is a testament to all parties involved, and we are looking forward to delivering a next phase of projects”.
