Project: Energy & Water Supply Tender
Market: Commercial
Location: Chancery Lane, London
Status: On-going
The Challenge
39 Essex Chambers had recently moved into a significantly refurbished Central London office and approached LCA to assist them in acquiring competitive electricity, gas and water supplies.
There also existed legacy issues in identifying the correct meter arrangements within the multi-let developments which the developer had not addressed; the most significant of these being the water supply. The occupier, supplier and infrastructure owner had differing information and no basis for resolution. This resulted n significant water bills that were looking to be resolved through legal action.
The Solution
LCA invited 39 Essex Chambers to their buying group and ran a tender for electricity and gas as both separate and dual supply agreements. LCA provided results from over 20 suppliers and included traditional as well as 100% carbon free options. The analysis looked at the energy profile, charges across different periods and optimised this for the buildings use. This resulted in a two-year fixed contract for a dual supply.
LCA also unravelled the water meter identification issue. Through surveys and engagement with the supple company, we achieved recognition from them of the accurate meter ID’s and readings. The water company is in the process of consolidating the data but we expect a significant credit to be forthcoming.
